Barrett's Tubes

Due to the way the inside of Barrett's ears are shaped, they hold fluid. The ENT recommended that we get tubes put in to help drain the fluid... ending the chronic ear infections Barrett was having. So that is exactly what we did.

They gave him a special dose of goofy medicine to relax him before they took him back.

Here he is feeling pretty good and relaxed.
The procedure took six minutes. It is a very simple procedure and a great way to give Barrett much needed relief!

Conga Time

They really weren't doing the Conga, but Barrett pulled up on Blake and that is what it reminded me of!
Everybody jump into the conga line
Cause you know I’m in the mood to conga line
While the bongo beats a song in bongo time
Everybody jump into the conga line

Follow The Leader

Barrett loves to follow his big brother around! Of course Blake is trying to get away so that Barrett doesn't get his toy, but Barrett doesn't know that... he thinks they are playing.

Oh Sunny Day

This nice weather has been welcome at our house. Blake has been able to play with some of his new outside Christmas things.

Barrett and I had fun playing with some of Blake's "old" toys.

Oh Sunny Day!

Too Cool?

Blake found the sunglasses his Pooh (Bell Family) got him when he was 5 months old. They looked so adorable on him way back then...

And still do, just in a different funny way now!

The Ball

Santa brought Barrett an 18 piece set of Roll-a-Rounds (Peek-a-Balls). He has chosen one to be his favorite.

He carries it with him all day.

He doesn't like to put it down... even for bath time.

Where ever Barrett is, his ball will be near by!

Sunday Best?

These sweet pictures were taken before church ...

They always look so handsome all dressed up

(Barrett's eyes anticipating the flash)

The after church pictures would look completely different! After a full morning of church, I think my two very tired boys plot and plan to gang up on me once we walk out the church doors. I can imagine it goes something like this...
Why don't you cry in the car all the way home Barrett, then when we get home I will start crying and throwing a fit about what I want to wear after I take off my church clothes. Oh good idea Blake, and I will start crying again too so that we are both crying at the same time. Then one of us can fall asleep first while the other refuses, and just as it is time for you to wake up, I will fall asleep...
And I am reminded: This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Duncan~McIntire Family Christmas

We celebrated our annual Duncan~McIntire Family Christmas a little postponed this year due to the babies being sick. We started our tradition off years ago eating home cooked food served on fine china. 3 kids and many years later... we ate take-out... straight out of the containers.

The Duncan's got Blake his very own tent for Christmas. The boys had a good time playing in it.

Oh yes, even the big boys had fun playing in the tent with their little boys.

Thank you Duncans for the gifts!

10 Months

We have climbed our way to 10 months!

This has been a tremendous month of development for Barrett.

Things I want to remember about Barrett at 10 months include...
  • He has 6 teeth
  • Started crawling on hands and knees, but still prefers army crawling
  • Claps
  • Waves bye bye
  • Pulls up to standing

The weather has felt more like fall than winter. Robert and Blake went outside to rake leaves and enjoy the nice weather. They built a nice pile of leaves and Blake found a way to use them. With a speedy entry he came plowing into the leaves.

And down he went!
He thought it was so fun he did it several more times, falling down on purpose each time after that. I guess since we can't build snowmen here we will settle for leaf piles.
