Happy Halloween

Per our norm, we spent Halloween with friends.
We ate a delicious meal before heading out to trick-or-treat.
Bo and Luke Duke were looking sharp!
The whole gang ready to head out.
It had been raining, so we had to watch our step on the sidewalks and streets. There were some pretty big puddles!  We were glad that it finally stopped raining just in time to trick-or-treat though!
Blake and Jaxson stayed back to pass out candy, while the rest of us went out in search of candy.
We walked until buckets were full, feet were wet, and legs were tired.
Happy Halloween!

Story Book Dress-Up Day

Last Game

Blake's team had a good season.  It was fun to see how much they improved since last year.
In the blink of an eye he played his last middle school football game.
I was home with a sick kiddo, but the rest of the family was there to watch his last game.
We had so much fun watching our #22 this year!

Character Pumpkin

October in 1st grade means Character Pumpkins!
This was our fourth and final character pumpkin.
With help from Blake and Daddy, Kaleb created Nibbles.  Nibbles is the main character from the book, Nibbles the Book Monster.  This book has been one of Kaleb's favorites for a couple of years.
Along with the pumpkin, he also completed a story map about the book.
This project always turns out so cute, and the kids never forget story elements!

We awoke to a beautiful sunrise over the Brazos River.
Some pictures from our campground.
Lone Star Lodge,
The Brazos River,
and the playground.
We found a couple of creatures.
Before we knew it, it was already time to pack up and head back home.
Until next time...

Day 1- Trick-or-Treat

Everyone got dressed in their costumes, ready for an evening of trick-or-treating.
We have Luke Duke, Laura Ingalls, Peter Pan, and a T-Rex.
We love this tradition of trick-or-treating at the campground!
Our T-Rex stayed at our campsite to pass out candy.
 The evening sun was beautiful!
It's such a fun evening for both the people passing out candy, and the kids trick-or-treating.
After dinner we went back up to play on the kids' favorite tree and watch the sunset.
The view of the Brazos was beautiful!
We sat around the campfire to end our fun day,

Tres Rios- Day 1 (Part 1)

We got to camp late Friday night, after we all finished a day at school and work.
We woke up to a beautiful view of the Brazos River.  Due to all of the rain, it was full!
We decided to eat breakfast at The Lodge in our campground.
Cups of coffee and a beautiful view are how we love starting our day.
We hiked around the Brazos River and Squaw Creek for our morning exploration.
Squaw Creek was overflowing.  We've never seen it this full.
A few treasures they picked up along the way.
 Our campsite
Our buddy site
We played all afternoon.  The kids enjoyed the playground, riding bikes, and driving their remote control cars.
As evening approached, it was time to get dressed in costumes for the fun evening ahead!

We played our rival game at the high school stadium in our town.
It was a beautiful evening and we walked away with the win!
