After Barrett swam for the summer league team and fell in love with it, he decided that he wanted to make swimming his sport this year.  He made the Junior Racer 3 team for this school year.  He's loving it and we are having fun watching him!
Baxter decided to give soccer a try.
Freshman Yellowjacket Football here we go!
The boys had their first scrimmage.  Our hearts belong to #21!

Last Day of Summer

We've had a wonderful summer!  It was filled with swimming, mowing, sports practices, sewing, reading, relaxing, vacationing, and playing with friends.
On our last official weekday of summer, we ran some back to school errands, and then headed to our local bowling alley for one last hoorah.
We had so much fun bowling as a family.  It was filled with laughter, high fives, and cold sodas!
We ended our day at the movies, watching Toy Story 4.
It was a great way to end an amazing summer!

Meet the Teacher

The much anticipated evening has finally arrived! The posting of teachers and class lists!
We were so happy to see which teachers the kids got, as well as seeing that some of their favorite friends are in class with them.
Barrett got Mrs. Elsik. She and I used to teach 1st grade together, one of my dear friends and neighbors!
Brynn got Ms. Cox. She, Barrett, and Kaleb all had Ms. Cox as their kindergarten teacher.  So thankful she moved up to 5th and we get to have her again!
Kaleb got Mrs. Pacot.  Brynn also had Mrs. Pacot in 2nd grade.  She is a dear friend and neighbor!
Everyone left the school super excited about the upcoming school year!
We've prayed all summer for who our new teachers would be and that we would have a good friend in class.  Our prayers have been answered!

Last Week of Summer

Blake and I were able to go walk his schedule before school started so that he would know where to find his classes on the first day.  It's hard to believe he is starting high school!
We are so thankful for his friend Jaxson, friends since 1st grade!
The upcoming 9th graders from church went on a skating outing to celebrate the end of summer/beginning of a new school year.  Blake has grown so close to this group of friends!
One last afternoon swim with some of our favorites!
Blake attended Fish Camp (freshman orientation).  They learned some things about the high school, and even had their first pep rally!

Pool Picture

Since the weather was questionable on Father's Day, we weren't able to take our annual cousin pool picture.  We were determined to get one before the summer was over. We were finally able to coordinate all the schedules and meet for a quick picture!
 Ages : 20, 16, 14, 11, 10, 7, 7, 4, 4, 2 & 15 months
I had to drop Blake and Barrett off for some mowing jobs, so Brynn and Kaleb stayed to swim with their little cousins.

Life

We didn't waste any time getting back to normal life after such a wonderful vacation. We had dentist appointments, football practice, hair appointments, church meetings, youth outings, and sewing class.
We did slow down and make time for our evening walks though.  We love looking for turtles in the pond.
While the kids play on the playground, Baxter and I watch.
We went as a family to watch The Lion King.
We are still savoring the memories of vacation, but life is definitely back in full swing!
