The New Do

After years of having shaggy hair, Blake decided he wanted to get it cut.  We made him think about it for a couple of weeks to make sure he was ready.
He said he was sure, so Aunt Mantha gave him a nice spiked haircut.  He quickly regretted it afterwards, but I think it was due to shock.  His hair has been long for so long, I think he was shocked to see himself like this. Barrett decided to get his cut too.
I love being able to see my handsome boys' faces again!
I'm loving their new do's!  Not to mention it is so much easier to fix in the mornings!

STAAR

This year Blake had to take the writing portion of the STAAR test.  He has worked so hard in preparation for the big day.
After two days of writing, it was finally over!  We took him to celebrate afterwards!
We are so proud of his dedication and hard work!

Happenings

Barrett lost his other front tooth.
 Brynn had ballet pictures.
We celebrated mom's birthday!

BMO Camp Out

The BMO (Boys Mission Organization) group at church went on their annual Dads and Dudes camp out over Spring Break.  Since Barrett is in 1st grade, he got to go for the first time this year.
They slept in tents and ate food prepared by a chuck wagon.  They did all things BOY while they were out in the great outdoors!  The group played by day and had Bible study and testimonies in the evenings.
They left on Thursday and came home on Saturday and had the BEST time ever!!
I'm hoping to get some pictures from the group collection to add since their daddy only took these two.   We are so thankful for a church that believes in the importance of developing and strengthening relationships!  I am so thankful for the example that Robert is to the boys, as well as the other dads in the group!

Rainy Spring Break

It's been a pretty rainy Spring Break.  Who needs a trip to the zoo when we have our local pet store??

Hello Spring Break

Just two days after our snow day, we officially started Spring Break.  We looked ahead at the weather and saw that rain was in the forecast for the beginning of the week.  So, we packed a picnic lunch and bikes and headed out to the State Park to enjoy the beautiful outdoors, while we still could.  We waited until it warmed up a bit, which meant that we got there right at lunchtime.  We ate first and then set out exploring.  As you can see by the closed eyes, the sun was shining bright!
All the kids searched for a walking stick to use while they explored.
We went to look at the lake.  It is so low, the kids got down in the bottom where it had dried up and hunted for lost fishing lures.
We found a picnic table nearby and set the timer on the camera so that we could get a family picture.
After we explored, we unloaded the bikes.
We told the kids to stay on the sidewalks and have fun.  And off they went!
They rode until their legs nearly fell off, only stopping for water breaks!
We had the best day together!  So thankful for God's beautiful creation and the family he has blessed us with!

SNOW

When the kids saw how much snow had fallen while they were sleeping, they couldn't wait to get in it!  We went out for a quick preview while we waited for our breakfast to finish cooking.
We ate breakfast, sang Happy Birthday to Barrett, gave him his present, and then bundled up for some fun!
Our Birthday Boy!

We played forever!  When the kids said they were cold and ready to go in for hot cocoa, I knew that we had conquered our SnOw DaY 2015!
The sun was shining bright and melted all of our snow by that evening.  We took Barrett out for his birthday dinner.  He requested Waffle House.  He wanted to sit in the tall stools at the counter. The three big kids sat up there, while Robert, Kaleb, and I sat at a booth right next to them.
We had a fun day playing in the snow and celebrating our Barrett's birthday!
