This morning Blake was sent to his room with his morning task of getting his bed made. I kept hearing a lot of laughter and noise coming from that direction. I called out to him, "Blake are you making your bed?". He answered, "I want you to come help me". When I got to his room to check on the situation this is what I found.

Summer Reading
The boys have enjoyed MANY books this summer. We have been reading the ones we check out each week from the library, as well as our own collection. The boys seem to always have a favorite of the moment that we tend to read more often.
Blake's favorite book this summer is Mater and the Ghost Light. He has loved this book since last summer when I got it for him to read on our very long journey to Florida. I don't know how many times I read this book in the car while we were driving. It feels like I read it the whole 23 hour journey... but I know it was probably more like 10 hours of the journey :) As it turns out... a year later it is still a favorite.
Barrett's favorite book for the summer is his duck book. He loves this little board book. He quacks at the ducks on the front, he loves to open all the flaps on the inside, and he points to the pictures of the trucks and tries to say something that sounds like truck. He looks at this book throughout the day and brings it to us several times each day to read to him.

It's A Sunshine Day
This morning was actually not a sunshine day as far as the weather was concerned. It was overcast and even sprinkled on our way to church. But when I look at my two handsome boys dressed up in their bright shirts, wearing such bright smiles... how can it not be a sunshine day in my heart?! So because of my sweet boys and the sunshine they bring to my heart I was reminded of one of my favorite songs... Enjoy :)
everybody's smilin

everybody seems so happy today
it's a sunshine day!

The Children's Museum
Today Blake and I went the The Children's Museum with our friends Tara and Lana. Yesterday Tara and I had our special day with Barrett and Lydia, so today we spent some special time with just Blake and Lana.
They were so excited and ready to play. Here they are lined up like a train on the tracks ready to go in.
I took so many pictures because there are so many fun things to do here. I tried to pick some of my favorites, but still have so many.
One of the first things Blake did was play trains and hopscotch.
He and Lana then headed over to NASA to work at the Mission Control Center. They spent a lot of time at this station... "checking their email" and talking on the phone.
Another stop they made was to the dinosaur excavation center. Here they dug up and examined dinosaur bones.
Oh wait... a little girl and her cow are hurt and need him to drive them to the doctor (you can see Lana in the back).
They enjoyed their trip to Egypt. There was a fun pyramid with chalk boards as the interior walls. Blake drew a picture of his mommy with chalk on the wall.
Blake and I had a fun day together with our friends!

Mommy And Daddy Day
Today we had a very special day. The boys had Mommy and Daddy Day!
Barrett and I went to play with our friends Tara and Lydia.
We started with a picnic lunch under a nice shade tree.

After lunch we went to play at an indoor playground. It was nice and cool... and had plenty of cushion for when the little friends went tumbling down.
Lucky for me there was no way of escaping for my little explorer! With walls all the way around the playground there was no way for him to get out... well except for the small space under the door that he did try to crawl under.
But apparently not too worn out for some kisses! I would just like everyone (especially Lydia's daddy) to take note of who is puckered up leaning in for the kiss!
Are these not the sweetest pictures Tara captured!?
While Barrett and I were playing, Blake and Daddy were spending the afternoon together.
