This and That

We've been enjoying the "cooler" temps in the evenings.
My kids no longer play at the playground and let me take their pictures, so I've resorted to pictures of our pup gang :)
Mid-week picture the 2nd week of school... still trying to get into the groove!
The new school year means new classes at church.  Kaleb was promoted to the pre-teen wing, and Brynn, Blake, and Barrett all volunteer in preschool classes before they attend their youth class.

World Honey Bee Day

World Honey Bee Day on the third Saturday in August brings a buzzing celebration for beekeepers, honey lovers, and all blooming things.

#WorldHoneyBeeDay

The day recognizes both the honey bee and the beekeepers who tend the hives. It also encourages everyone to enjoy and buy locally grown honey.

Brynn sewed Morris a bee costume to wear in celebration of the day!

Fish Camp

Barrett went to Fish Camp to learn about all things RHS!
It's hard to believe he's already a freshman!  He's excited and nervous about starting high school.  I know he's going to do great things while he's there over the next 4 years!
RHS here he comes!!

Staff Development Weeks

I had to go back to work 2 weeks before school started.  Luckily Gram was able to come to stay with Brynn and Kaleb to help entertain them during the long days.  Aunt Mantha took them to Splash Kingdom one afternoon.  They had so much fun!
Gram brought things to do with them, including cooking homemade biscuits and gravy for dinner!
Meanwhile, I was busy getting ready for a new school year, my 21st year in education.
One day Robert passed this wooden chicken on the curb in front of someone's house in our neighborhood, put out for bulk trash.  He stopped to get it to add to my classroom since I'm a chicken lady.
It's carved from a huge chunk of wood, such as a tree trunk!
I love everything chickens at school since I hatch them in the spring in my classroom!

The Sound of Music

Our local theater presented, The Sound of Music, so Brynn and I went.  It was such a lovely performance of one of my favorite movies!  Brynn had never seen the movie, and absolutely loved the musical production!
We are looking forward to another great production in the fall!

Senior Parking Spot

Today was one of many senior traditions.  It was Senior Parking Lot Day!  Blake designed his spot, and then we went to help make it happen.
The finished product is a beautiful Texas sunset with a cross.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.  Rev. 21:4
