Cousins, Coffee, and Cavachons

It's always a fun day when we get to play with our human and puppy cousins!
While we were in town, we made a stop at our favorite coffee shop!
There's always work to be done on the farm!  Weekend stops by the classroom to check on eggs are a regular part of our life right now!  We have to make sure the temp and humidity are staying in a range healthy for our developing eggs.
Evenings spent with friends and their puppy (Morris' littermate) are always fun!

March Things

St. Patty's Day in First Grade!
I always love sharing my chick experience with anyone!  It was a pleasure to share it with my nieces and nephews!  And then we figured out a way to truly share it with them when they bought their own incubator to experience at their house!

Spring Has Sprung

Spring has sprung in first grade!  Today our eggs were delivered for our unit on life cycles and living organisms.  It's one of our favorite units as we watch the eggs develop in the incubator over the next 21 days and then hatch into chicks!
It was a very egg-citing day!

Texas Bound

We stayed overnight in our usual campground in Mississippi.  It's perfect for a quick overnight stop!
A crazy cold front came through overnight.  LA was covered in a light blanket of snow!

After we bumped down the interstate through LA, another truck pulled up next to us motioning and rolling down his window.  As we were driving, he was yelling that our bikes fell off.  We stopped, and sure enough our whole bike rack and two bikes on it had fallen off in the middle of the interstate.  We are thankful that no one was hurt or wrecked because of it.
The man was so nice and offered to drive Robert, lopping back around on the interstate to try to get the bikes.  One of them was Kaleb brand new bike he had just received for Christmas.  They were able to get them and bring them back.  The bikes were damaged, but not destroyed.  We were so thankful for this nice man and the kindness he showed to us!
We made it the rest of the way home without incident, and I went straight to pick Baxter up.
It was a good trip and we made it home safely!

Goodbye Fort Wilderness

Today was the day that our fun trip came to an end.  We had a good time just playing and enjoying this beautiful campground, without even visiting the parks.  It was nice to relax and take time to do things here that we don't always have time for when we visit the parks.  We missed some things about our normal Disney trip, but don't regret doing it this way this time.
Site 1429 was good to us!

Fort Wilderness Day 5

This morning we had reservations at the Polynesian Resort for the Ohana Breakfast.  It is a tropical theme with delicious food!
They serve POG juice, which is a blend of juices, passion fruit, orange, and guava.
It was absolutely delicious!
After breakfast we got on the monorail and resort hopped. We walked around exploring the resorts along each stop of the monorail.
For lunch we rode the ferry from Fort Wilderness to the Wilderness Lodge for lunch.
We had to switch ferries at the Magic Kingdom, so we posed for a quick picture outside the gates.
We made it back to camp just as the thunderstorms rolled in.  It stormed for a couple of hours again, cancelling our horseback riding, yet again.
After the rain subsided, we rode the bus to Disney Springs again for dinner and dessert.  We ate dessert first, at Ghirardelli.  Later in the evening we at pizza at a yummy pizza place.
It was a fun day filled with yummy food and resort hopping!

Fort Wilderness Day 4

We started the morning our favorite way... sitting at camp in our rocking chairs drinking coffee.
We enjoyed our time biking around the grounds.
Today we had reservations for horseback riding.
It's fun to have a stable onsite at Fort Wilderness.
We all got saddled up!
And then the thunder started to roll and they cancelled the ride.  We were all so disappointed.  We scheduled one for the following day and then headed back to the camper to wait out the storm.  It was quite and storm and last a couple of hours.  When it finally subsided, they boys went kayaking around the campground.  The river flowed directly behind our campsite, so we sat in our chairs and waited for them to row by.
There was a food truck roundup at the Settlement, so we ate dinner there and then sat out by the lagoon and watched the water parade come by.
The dogs were tired after their big walk and fun in the sand.  We all went back to the camper for a good night's sleep.
