Thousand Trails - Last Day

It rained overnight, so we woke up to a wet campground.
The kids didn't mind!  They had fun riding their bikes through the puddles and jumping in them!
It was a great weekend!
So long #campmcintire... until next time!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day from Thousand Trails!
Today was our annual family day at camp.
It is a day full of cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, good food, and lots of fun!
Feasting around the family camp table.
After lunch, we enjoyed an afternoon at the pool.
Cousins x 10!
Sisters x 4
We ate leftovers for dinner and s'mores for dessert.
After our non-camping family went back home, I took the littles on a golf cart ride to explore. One of our favorite parts about camping is exploring!
Bikes, footballs, and wet beach towels... evidence of a fun day!
Happy Father's Day to Daddy and Papa!  Both shining examples of selfless love!

Thousand Trails - Day 2

This morning the lodge was offering free breakfast for dads, in honor of Father's Day.
We decided to go up there and enjoy a home-cooked breakfast.
The kids, along with Gram and Papa rode their bikes up to the lodge.  We followed behind on the golf cart.
After breakfast, lots of playing, then lunch... we went up to the pool for a swim.
Robert had been smoking meat all day for us to eat for dinner.
We enjoyed a large family camping feast!
After dinner, we set around in lawn chairs talking.  A little skunk decided to come around.  Robert and Blake went to scare it off.
  Goodnight campers!

Thousand Trails

Father's Day weekend is one of our favorite weekends of the year.  We camp with {part} of our family at Thousand Trails on Lake Tawakoni.
The kids and I got packed up so that as soon as Robert got home from work, we could hit the road.  Luckily it's one of our closest camping destinations, so we were there in no time.
We got set up and ready for a fun weekend!
Goodnight campers!

Happy {early} Father's Day

The two big boys each made Robert a Father's Day gift. They wanted to give it to him before we left for our Father's Day weekend camping trip.
Barrett made him a candle holder out of clay from the earth.
He dug the clay up at Gram and Papa's house, shaped it, and let it dry to harden.
Blake knew just what he wanted to make, but needed Papa's help.  He and Papa worked together to make Blake's masterpiece.
Both gifts are labors of love and Robert loves them!
Below are pictures from the previous month when Blake and Papa worked on the gift.

VBS 2017

We had another great year at VBS!
Blake was too old to attend as a participant this year. He has worked hard all year in the LIT (Leaders in Training) program, completed his homework and service time, so he was eligible for volunteering at VBS this year as a LIT Helper.
He is the Image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For everything was created by Him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities - all things have been created through Him and for Him.
