Tawakoni State Park

We set out for our maiden voyage in our camper to a nearby state park.  We wanted to stay close enough that if something went wrong or we forgot something, we could easily take care of it.
We got everything, and I mean everything, packed and loaded.
We got all hooked up and off we went!
We got all set up and then started playing Frisbee and riding bikes.
Mom and dad came over to check out our new home away from home.
It was hot, so after they left we went to the lake to cool off.
The kids had so much fun!  We swam until almost dark and then went back for showers and bed.
Everyone slept good in the camper for the first night.  We woke up and ate breakfast outside at the picnic table.  Since we were close enough, our friends came out with their boat for the afternoon.  We had the best time!
We anchored down in the middle of the lake and jumped off the boat and swam.
Then the kids got pulled around on the tube.
We took the evening easy since we were worn out from the afternoon on the lake.
We ate dinner and then roasted marshmallows for s'mores.
We took showers and then headed to bed.
The next morning was our last, so we made a big breakfast and then went for a morning swim.
We swam for a while and then went back to the camper for lunch and to start packing up.
We had a great time on our maiden voyage!  We made wonderful new memories and talked with anticipation of all of the fun times coming up!

Movie In The Park

We love our small town and the little things they do that make it special.  One of those things is hosting a movie in the park once a month during the summer.  They rotate through our different city parks.  The one we chose to go see this summer was Toy Story.  The Stuart family met us there.  The kids played before the movie started.  Once it got dark and the movie started, we all enjoyed the breeze, lots of stars in the sky, and of course the movie!

The Camper

Robert and I both grew up camping.  We owned a camper during the early years of our marriage and when Blake was a baby.  We've camped a little with the kids in shelters and cabins, but wanted to get another camper so that we could camp when and where we wanted.  Vacationing in hotels with a family this size, isn't cheap... so this is a great way that we can vacation, whether it be big or small, and spend time together.

We got a camper just big enough to fit us all without stepping all over each other, but nothing excessive.
The kids were beyond thrilled the day we got to pick it up and pull it home.
Barrett was so excited!  We opened the windows and he sat out in the camper just taking it all in.
We can't wait to make lots of new family memories together!

This and That

Swimming with friends, finding out you have a stress fracture in your foot... that's been there since October, sleepy evenings, helping daddy work on a car, jumping together at the pool, after swim naps.

Week in Review

A cloudy morning means fun in the sand!  They caught a little frog and made an island for him, complete with a volcano and his own Barbie jet ski.
 Pool life.
