We wanted to spend our last day in Florida relaxing and enjoying Fort Wilderness one more time. Since we love camping, and this is the ultimate campground, we knew we would want to spend more than just one day off from the parks here. We also knew that a day off to relax before we hit the road for a long drive back home would be beneficial.
We had reservations at Trail's End for breakfast, so we caught the bus from our camping loop up to the Settlement for breakfast (all of this is inside of Fort Wilderness, but would have taken too long to walk or bike).
The bus stop at the end of our loop.
Our home-style breakfast buffet didn't disappoint!
After we filled our bellies with everything delicious, including more Mickey waffles, we went down to the dock to play in the sand.
The kids played in the sand forever!
While they were playing in the sand, Robert had gone to rent us a golf cart to use for the day. It made getting around Fort Wilderness easier and faster (and way more fun)!
We cruised back to our camper to grab our Disney mugs (plastic refillable mugs that come with the Disney Dining Plan). We stopped to take a picture of our loop name so that we wouldn't forget. 1616 Timber Trail was our home for the week.
We cruised up to the Meadow Snack Bar to fill our mugs with cold, bubbly soda. The mugs provide you with free, unlimited refills on soda, coffee, and hot chocolate.
The kids wanted to press pennies to take home as souvenirs. They chose Mickey by the campfire, Chip 'n Dale, Mickey hiking, and Mickey in a coonskin hat.
After we drove around on the golf cart and explored more of Fort Wilderness, we came back to the snack bar for lunch. The kids got Mickey ice cream sandwiches for dessert.
Brynn already had a loose tooth and after taking a bite out of the hard, frozen ice cream sandwich, her tooth came out! She was so excited to lose her front tooth at Disney World!
The kids swam after lunch.
That evening we went to Chip 'n Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long.
We ate snacks and played Frisbee while we waited for it to start.
We had lots of fun as we did the Hokey Pokey and sang other classic campfire songs together.
The people who had birthdays that week went up while we sang Happy Birthday.
Although he looks very serious, Barrett was happy about getting to do this!
We ate a late dinner... one that Kaleb just couldn't hang in there for. He was out after such a long, fun day!
We went back for showers, packing, and bedtime.
Another fun day in the books!
