First Day of Kindergarten

I can't believe this day is here... Blake's first day of Kindergarten!
As a teacher, I see lots of kids come through the school doors... I can't believe mine is now one of them.
Blake was so excited about starting Kindergarten.  However, on the way to school he kept saying, "I don't know if I'm ready for school.  I don't know if I know all the tips.  I am nervous about being able to follow the rules in the cafeteria".  I assured him that Mommy and Mrs. Gina had been getting him ready for Kindergarten and he would do great.  I reminded him that Mrs. Simmons was going to help him out with all the tips of Kindergarten.

I was able to stop by the cafeteria during his lunch time to check on him.  He was doing great and loving his first day!
After school, this is where you might find Blake and his friend Carly... eating snacks, watching a movie, and playing with their new friend stick horse and parrot.  Blake and Carly are both teacher's kids and in the same kindergarten class.
We are looking forward to a great school year!

Big Kids, Big Church

Sunday was promotion day at our church.  Since Blake is now a Kindergartner, he got to come to the church service (big church) after Sunday School.  He and his friend Presley thought they were big stuff in there with us!
I didn't hear much of what the sermon was about with my little guy in there with me.  He was thirsty, his shoe fell off under the pew in front of us, he was tired, he was bored... Hopefully next week will be better!

Meet The Teacher

Blake and I had Meet the Teacher Friday evening at our school.  It is a chance for the kids to come see their classrooms, meet their teachers, and drop off school supplies.  It helps ease first day nerves and first day chaos.  Daddy and Barrett brought Blake up to the school for this fun night.  I was able to walk down with him to find his room before I had to get back to my own room.  We read the class rosters on the doors until we found his name.  He was excited when he found his name on the list!
As you can see by this smile, he was so excited and proud to be here!  We found the seat that had his name tag on it.
Mrs. Simmons is his teacher.  He was so excited to meet her and said how much he liked her.
After they looked at his classroom, they went and had ice cream in the cafeteria.  They came and told me goodbye in my classroom before heading home.
Blake had a fun night and is so excited about starting Kindergarten!

Presley's Petting Party

Our friend Presley had a petting zoo party.
The kids had a blast at the backyard petting zoo!  They would have stayed all day petting the animals if I would have let them.
Not only did they get to pet,  but they also got to feed!
There was a fun tractor pulled train ride.
Lots of fun playing!!
After lots of playing and petting, it was time for cake and presents.
Before we ended our fun time, we had to get the group picture.  This is what happens when you stand them in front of the chicken/turkey coop for the picture...
Ok, now turn around and look at the camera(s), not the animals!
Happy 5th Birthday to Presley!

Last Splash

I took the boys for one last splash at the spray park on our last day of summer.
They had a blast, as usual. They ran and played until it was time to leave.
So long summer!
Well, so long freedom of summer.  The heat of summer is still hanging around!

Last Pics

We enjoyed our last few visits to Hawaiian Falls for the summer.
The boys and I had so much fun trying to stay cool in the sun!
Friendships grew and new memories were made.
By our last trip, I had a stronger swimmer!
Until next summer...
Goodbye Hawaiian Falls!

Dinner

We have looked forward to our annual dinner with the Hague family for a couple of weeks.  Even though the kids only see each other once a year, they play like they have never been apart!
It was so nice to catch up with my old college friend!  Her family is so special to us and we enjoy our yearly summer get togethers!

Back To School Bash

We were able to enjoy a wonderful Back To School Bash hosted by the Moore girls.
We showed up to a house that had been converted into everything school.

The kids started by eating dinner, cafeteria style.
Everything was letters and numbers, even the light fixture!
After dinner they had "Math Class" by using playdo on numbers.
"Art Class" was a huge hit when they got to paint on a canvas around their sticker initial... when the paint dried we pulled up the initial to reveal a beautiful masterpiece.
Snack time included an "apple" cupcake.  We reminded them that this would not be what snack at school was like!
"Music Class" was interesting to say the least.  Lots of laughter during this part of the night.
Oh me, oh my... look at the 3 kindergartners.
I cannot believe these three will be starting a new season in life as school kids.  Sigh...
We had a wonderful evening celebrating how far our kids have come and the fear excitement the future holds.
