Goodbye 2018

2018 has been good to us.
We had a year full of travel and adventure.
Another move for us this year, resulting in a great neighborhood with school friends.
New teachers, new friends, and new sports were experienced this year.
Our youngest cousin was born, followed by our oldest cousin leaving for his first year at college.
We said goodbye to my childhood home and welcomed a fun, new location to visit grandparents.
Aunt YayYay had a scary surgery.  God was with us providing comfort and healing.
So many things to be thankful for this year!
Goodbye 2018... you were good to us!

Fabulous Forty

My family spoiled me on my 40th birthday!  They fixed me breakfast to start my day. Then I went and got a manicure while they took down the Christmas tree.
We then went out for lunch at Babe's Chicken.
We stuffed ourselves until we couldn't breathe.
After that, we went to watch Mary Poppins Returns.
Such a fun movie!
The following evening a group of my friends took me out for a birthday dinner.
Everyone made my 40th a fun and special occasion!

Deer Lease

One of the boys' favorite things is going to the deer lease with Daddy and Papa.
This trip they took Barrett's kayak so he could kayak in the pond.
He saved his money from mowing lawns this summer and bought it for himself.
There is nothing better for these boys than time at the deer lease!

Trampoline

Robert and I got the kids their first ever trampoline.
They wanted one so badly, and were so excited to get one for Christmas!
They have jumped for hours!!  They love it!

Christmas Evening

Christmas evening my family came to our house.
Since we have already exchanged gifts as aunts, uncles, and cousins... tonight was about gifts to and from Gram and Papa.
It was a good evening filled with laughter, food, fun, and lots of love!

Christmas Morning

Daddy had to work Christmas Day, but he wanted to get to see the kids open their presents, so we waited in the boys' bedroom until he was able to swing by.  We played cards and I read Christmas books to the kids while we waited.
When he was able to swing by, we emerged from the bedroom, ready to see what Santa had brought.
Oh the fun and magic of Christmas morning!
Daddy headed back to work while we continued to play with all of the new things.
It was a very relaxing, fun Christmas morning!

Christmas Eve

We tracked Santa,
 Baked cookies,
 And watched Christmas movies.
When Daddy got home from work, we ate dinner and went to look at Christmas lights.  We ate cookies and drank hot chocolate along the way.  When we got home we told our elves goodbye, put Santa's cookies and milk out, and went to sleep... with much excitement about the upcoming Christmas morning!

Progressive Dinner

Tonight was our 12th Annual Grable Family Progressive Dinner.
Brynn and I were excited that we found pieces in our closets that would create matching outfits.
The evening started at the Killough home for appetizers.
They drew Uncie, Brynn, Robert, and Blake's names for Christmas gifts. They got to open their gifts.
The next stop was our house for the main course.  The group whose names we drew got to open their gifts.
Since our family has grown so much, The Estes family has joined us in helping with the main course.  The group who they bought Christmas gifts for also opened at our house.
The last stop is the Gillespie house for dessert and coffee.
The last group got to open their gifts here.  These three littles were so patient waiting through all of the stops and watching others open their gifts... and it was finally their turn!
The Grable Cousins
 The Grable Family
One of our favorite traditions!  Looking forward to many more years!

Christmas Sunday

Christmas Festivities

Our last day of school before Christmas Break was filled with holiday festivities.
It started off with the Christmas musical.  Barrett was a reindeer and sang as part of the Honor Choir.
It's a school wide event, so every kid in the school comes to watch.
After the musical, it was time for the Jingle Bell Run,
Class parties were next.  Lots of sugar, games, and fun!
Barrett's class was busy playing a game by the time I got to his room, so I didn't get a picture of his party:(
A busy, but fun morning!  Early release and then home to relax and celebrate the upcoming holiday!
