September

We are so happy that Sunday School has started back up after being closed since March due to COVID.
Blake is volunteering again this year in the preschool class.  He has a special girl in his class this year!
Barrett got braces!  We are ready to watch his teeth straighten and transform!
Now we have two in braces!
We finally got to kick off the football season.  They pushed it back and we thought it may never start, but it did!
Blake had a lot of playing time, and played well.
He ended up with a concussion that was caused when he tackled their running back.  That's certainly not the way we wanted to start the season.
Kaleb also kicked off his flag football season.
Brynn has been working hard at our local pumpkin patch.  She unloads pumpkins, fills up animal feed, wipes down tables, and picks up trash.

This & That

The boys were so happy that the Wednesday night youth group was starting back up.  Barrett is old enough to be a part of the youth group now!
Blake was asked to be in the band that plays the worship music for the youth on Wednesday nights.  He's been enjoying it!
Sleepy puppy!
Robert ran 3.43 miles on 9-11 in memory of the 343 firemen that lost their lives that day.  He did 23 push-ups for the 23 NYPD officers that died and 37 sit-ups in memory of the 37 Port Authority Police that died that day.
Art class, 2020 style
Hat Day at school
This is how library looks this year.
Camo, masks, and working late together!

Goodbye Hot Springs

We got up this morning and slowly started packing up camp.  We enjoyed this KOA as our base camp.  The big buddy site was a nice bonus!
It was a nice getaway after a very busy, stressful start to our pandemic schoolyear!
Until next time...

Hot Springs National Park

This morning we ate breakfast at the campground kitchen, Grandpa's Griddle.  It was a yummy, homecooked breakfast.    Then, we set out to explore Hot Springs National Park.

We walked along Bath House Row, learning the history and looking at the beautiful bath houses.

The weather was beautiful as we hiked some of the trails in the National Park.
We made it to the lookout, were we stopped to take in the beauty.
Kaleb spotted a pretty little church down below.
The kids enjoyed dipping their hands in the hot spring water.
We ate lunch on the patio in town at a delicious pizza place, followed by dessert at the local sweet shoppe.
While we were out sightseeing, we hired a dog-sitter to come to the camper to check on Baxter.  She took him for a walk and potty break.  We used Rover, an app that we've heard great things about.  We were very pleased with the service!
An evening at camp around the fire to end our fun day.
We enjoyed the beautiful weather, good company, and new sights and history to explore!

Hot Springs National Park

After an interesting and very different start to the school year, we headed out of town for Labor Day weekend.  We left after school on Friday.  We drove late as the sun set behind us.  It was a beautiful sunset, and we were happy to be on the road with our camper in tow.
We stayed at the Hot Springs National Park KOA.
We woke up to a beautiful morning!  Today we spent the day at the campground relaxing and enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
This campground had a true buddy site, intended for people camping together.  We were happy to share this space with the Duncan family.
Baxter, our camp dog!
The kids enjoyed an afternoon swim.
The campground hosted a tie dye station. The kids had fun creating a souvenir from the KOA.
It was a good day at camp!  We had beautiful weather and were able to relax and enjoy our friends and watch the kids play and explore.
