Fish Camp

The other night we tried a new fish restaurant that we have heard good things about. It is off the beaten path and we didn't know what to expect.

When we pulled up I was instantly in love with this new place!

It has a large pond with rods that you can fish with if you bring your own bait. The boys enjoyed looking in the water for fish since we didn't have bait to fish with.

After our initial exploration of what the outside had to offer, we made our way inside to eat dinner. They had the windows cracked letting in the fresh evening air.
We all got catfish, well except for Barrett of course (he is way to picky for that). It was delicious!

After dinner we made our way back outside. There are picnic tables and patio furniture. We can't wait to go back on a warmer evening and eat outside.

We spent another 15 minutes just running around and playing. The boys weren't ready to leave when the time came.

We give it a two thumbs up rating for good food and family friendly!

Springtime

This family welcomes springtime with open arms.
We love playing outside all evening.

We love playing games until bedtime with the cool breeze blowing in the opened windows.
We love all of the time we spend and the memories we make as a family on these beautiful spring evenings!

Earth Day

This past Thursday was Earth Day. On our way to school Blake and I talked about Earth Day and what it meant. At school his teacher read a book to the class about Earth Day.

Last night when we were outside playing Blake drew a picture with his sidewalk chalk and wanted to surprise us. He said he drew a picture of our earth like the one in the book his teacher read them. He asked me how to spell "Earth"... and then he revealed his masterpiece to us.
I love to see how much Blake learns at school and how much fun he has!

Monkey Do!
Last week we had Blake's five year check-up.
Barrett couldn't resist doing what big brother did!

Playin' at the Park

The boys and I headed to one of their favorite parks last weekend. The weather was overcast and just perfect for a morning of playing at the park!
Barrett can navigate this park like a pro now!

Blake is so proud of himself because he can swing ALL by himself now! I don't even have to give him a push to get him started.

The monkey bars was something new he tried this time. He couldn't quite make it all the way across yet. I reassured him that it would take practice!

Barrett loves to climb up, over, around, and thru... and then come sliding down.

A good ole tire swing... these never get outdated when it comes to having fun.

Bad Hair Day

This is what you get when you go to bed with wet hair and sleep really well...

Little Friends

Barrett and his friend Luke are so cute together.

After a night of playing outside in the sand, they needed a bath!

It is cute how they share some of the same physical traits. Same hair color, size, and sweet smile!

The last picture is blurry because I was trying to quickly snap a picture of both of them looking and smiling at the same time.

Blake's Belated Birthday

We celebrated Blake's 5th birthday this past weekend with a bike party. His birthday is actually in February but since the first available weekend day off for Robert was April, we decided to dely the party so that daddy could attend:) It actually worked out perfectly because the weather was beautiful for his bike party!

We sent out invitations inviting his friends to join him for a bike party at his house. What to bring: bikes and helmets of course!

The concession table before the party.

We were waiting outside for the guests to arrive. Our first guests... Papa and Gram rode up on their bikes!

Blake and Papa tested out the course before his friends arrived.

Once all of his friends were there and ready to ride we started the obstacle course.

Ready, set, go!!

It was so fun to watch how much fun they were having riding their bikes together... navigating the course! Friends big and small, short and tall came to celebrate. Have I mentioned how much fun it was to watch?!
After a super long ride it was time to make their way to the concession stand for cold water and sunvisors.

After a cool down it was time to come inside for presents. Blake loved all of his new things!
Moving right along to CAKE!

The cake was not only delicious, but also adorable! Angie made it to match the invitation... and it turned out perfect!

5 candles... such a big boy!
Blake LOVED his bike party! I am so glad his friends and their families were able to come out to celebrate with us!
Happy 5th Birthday sweet Sunshine!
