5 Years

Happy 5 year Family Day to our girl!!!  I can't believe it has been 5 years since they handed this little girl to us in China.

 We took her to lunch and to pick out her new charm (she chose a cat) to celebrate.

We are so thankful for this girl and glad God chose us to be her family!

Kaleb's adoption story made both the Greenville and Rockwall Herald Banner on Thanksgiving Day.  There was much excitement at our house when we were getting calls and texts about it!

In Loving Memory

Today we said goodbye to Robert's mom, the kids' Nana.  There are no words to express our pain.  Our hearts hurt.  She will be deeply missed.

 

Tres Rios with Friends

As soon as we were done at court on Kaleb's adoption day, we headed to Glen Rose for a weekend of camping with our friends.  The kids were beyond excited to be getting to spend the weekend at Tres Rios with their friends!

 

 The weather was chilly that weekend.  We built a huge fire in an old fireplace and sat there all day while the kids played.

 We ventured away from the fire for a hike along Squaw Creek. 

 After dinner we roasted marshmallows for our s'mores. 

 Sunday morning we ate a big, yummy breakfast at The Lodge before we got ready to head back home.

We had a fabulous weekend celebrating Kaleb's adoption and making memories with our friends!

 World Adoption Day

Camp Grady Spruce

We packed up the night before and loaded up our truck the next morning. Then we met at the school and learned everything we needed to know. Daddy took his truck an I rode the bus. We got there and set up, then got ready for our first trail, JP (Johnson's Peak).

We just finished JP and we got some wet charcoal on our faces (for some strange reason that I don't know, but it was still fun).  

 We got just a little rain at CGS (Camp Grady Spruce)

 Most of the boys (including me) played the best sport ever, Gaga Ball.

We did archery (I was terrible) .

 We went canoeing. It was AWESOME!!!!!

 On the last night, we all did skits with the people in our cabin.  Our skit was about bigfoot.  We had fun!

Some of my favorite parts were: horseback riding, canoeing, and watching the teachers jump into the lake because we had 0 food waste for 3 days.
