Happy Birthday Brynn

Happy 12th Birthday Brynn!!
Today was a school day, and then she wanted to go to tennis practice with her friends.  We had cake and she opened her gift after tennis practice.  It was a fun evening celebrating our girl!
Happy Birthday!

Venture 2021

Venture looked a little different this year due to COVID.  We are so thankful that they were able to modify and still have it.  The main difference is that there weren't host homes to go home to at the end of each night.  One of Blake's friends opened his home for the weekend to their small group, not sponsored by the church. They had a lot of fun and we are so thankful they got to feel normal and spend that time together.  They always make so many memories staying up late and eating junk food.
They packaged food for Feed My Hungry Children.
They tried to maintain the traditions of Venture by still having a dress-up night.  Blake and his friend were well prepared for this.
This was Barrett's first year to attend.  We were disappointed that he didn't get to experience it to the fullest, but he still had a lot of fun and was happy to be there.
It was another great year of service and growing in God's Word!

Horse Lessons

Brynn loves her horseback riding lessons! Kaleb wanted to give it a try too.
It was a chilly morning!
They practiced riding the barrel patterns in the arena before they went on a short trail ride.
They both had a great time and love spending time on the back of a horse!

Taylor and Kate

Two of Brynn's friends were in a terrible accident in our neighborhood.
The girls made a picture collage to send to them in the hospital.
They also tied pink and purple ribbons all over the trees and fence at our school and in our neighborhood to show support for the girls as they recover.
It will take time, but we are thankful that they are recovering well.

Snow

We came out of church to find big snowflakes falling!  We were so excited!  It's been quite awhile since we've had real snow falling. It didn't stick, but the kids had fun jumping on the trampoline and playing outside for the couple of hours while it was falling.

It was snow much fun!

Oil Change

His daddy taught him well!
Blake did an oil change on my car, all by himself (daddy wasn't even home!).
I'm so proud of him for learning these important life skills!

First Sunday

We were happy to get to worship in-person on the first Sunday of the new year.
Pastor Steve preached a sermon title, "Facing a New Year; Some Help & Hope for 2021".
The scripture reference was Joshua 6:1-20.
I pray for our character as we face the things that will come our way in 2021.
New problems will require creativity , new pressures will require conviction, and new possibilities will require courage.
God's presence and His Word are where we will get the strength.

Brothers Lawn Care

These two have been hard at work raking leaves and cleaning out flower beds this winter.  They got a little break from mowing, but are still hard at work doing other jobs!

Hello 2021

We are clinging to the unchanging word of God during the upcoming year.
We are praying Ephesians 6:10 over our family this year.
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.  Ephesians 6:10-18
