Mid-Autumn Moon Festival

We had another fun year celebrating the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival.  This holiday is the second largest holiday celebrated in China.
 The Mid-Autumn Festival is a harvest festival. The festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese Han calendar, on the night of the full moon between early September to early October of the Gregorian calendar.
  Moon Pie was served.
 Fun face painting.
A traditional lantern parade.
 And then we all gazed at the moon, the same moon that all of our loved ones look at no matter where they are.  We sent our lantern up to the moon...

This Week

Barrett wrote a story about our last trip to Kentucky.  He published, illustrated, and shared it with the class.
We love our Sunday afternoons.
 Story time at the library.
 Roasting marshmallows on his pretend campfire.
 Swim week at school.

Wednesday Night Activities

Our Wednesday night church activities have started back up this school year.  Brynn started GMO's (Girls Mission Organization) this year for the first time.  Her time in Mission Friends was so valuable, and she is now old enough to move to the next stage.  Blake and Barrett were both thrilled about starting BMO's (Boys Mission Organization) back up.  I love seeing how much they love our church and the things they learn while they are there.

Glen Rose {Last Day}

We spent our last morning playing on the playground, horseshoes, and tether ball.
We ate lunch and then packed up to head home.
 It was another fun weekend!

Glen Rose {Day 2}

Day 2 we started the day off with a buffet breakfast at The Lodge.  Since this was our first time at this camping ground, we didn't know what to expect.  We brought food to cook for all of our meals at the camper, but enjoyed the new experience at The Lodge.  We rode bikes and played all morning.  We tried to lay Kaleb down for a nap in the afternoon, but that didn't last long.  The 3 big kids and I enjoyed checking out the kid's center while he rested.
 Afterwards, we all put on our swimsuits and headed down to Squaw Creek.  Squaw Creek runs along one side of the property.
 The kids were so excited about getting to play in the creek.
 The water comes from a power plant, so was the perfect temperature.

 There was a small waterfall area that the kids loved rolling and playing in.
 We had a blast!  It was our favorite part of the trip!
S'mores, showers, and bedtime soon followed.
